Missing Teeth
Restore your confidence and quality of life
Helping replace missing teeth
Tooth loss is more common than you may think and if left untreated it can have an impact on the way you eat, talk and smile – especially if it’s one of your front teeth.
Thankfully, at Dental House we have an array of solutions to replace your missing teeth here in Sunbury-on-Thames. Using the very latest materials and techniques including dental implants, bridges and dentures, we can make your ‘new’ teeth look and function like your natural teeth – helping restore your confidence and getting you smiling again.
Dental Implants
If you’re considering dental implants in Sunbury-on-Thames then it’s likely that you’re missing teeth or need teeth replacing, either through tooth decay, gum problems, trauma, or injury.
The loss of a tooth, for any reason, can be traumatic at any age and finding a long-lasting replacement to missing teeth with dental implants can, in many cases, be the ideal solution. More than just a solution for tooth restoration – they can improve your quality of life.
Made from titanium, dental implants are artificial tooth roots which are surgically inserted into the jaw to replace the missing root. Titanium implants integrate well with the surrounding bone and overtime the jawbone will grow around the surface of the implant providing a strong foundation for crowns, bridges or dentures to be securely attached.

Dental implants offer a durable and long-term solution for lost teeth or ill-fitting dentures. They look, feel and function like your natural teeth, enabling you to speak clearly, eat with enjoyment and smile with confidence. Additionally, dental implants play an important role in improving or preventing facial sagging as their firm position within the jawbone prevents teeth from shifting and the jaw from shrinking.
Our team are highly trained and experienced in the placement and restoration of dental implants so you can rest assured that you are in safe hands when receiving dental implant treatment in Sunbury-On-Thames.
Aesthetic
They look, feel and function like your own teeth, so no one will know you’ve got them.
Durable
Enjoy a long-lasting replacement for missing teeth – unlike crowns, bridges and dentures which need to be replaced overtime.
Quality of life
Regain your confidence to eat, speak and smile without fear, discomfort or embarrassment.
Tooth & bone saving
They prevent bone shrinkage, so you’ll look younger for longer – plus more of your adjacent teeth are left untouched during treatment.
How does the dental implant procedure work?
1
Extraction
The damaged tooth is removed if required.
2
Bone preparation
Your jawbone is prepared for surgery, depending on the health of your jawbone, grafting may be required.
3
Implant placement
The dental implant post is inserted into the jawbone as a strong replacement for your natural tooth root.
4
Healing Phase
The bone is given time to heal around the implant (osseointegrate). In some cases you may be given a temporary crown the same day.
5
Restoration
After the soft tissue heals, your dentist will make moulds of your teeth and jawbone and later place the final crown 3-6 months after implant placement.
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Dental implants are an ideal alternative to missing teeth for patients of all ages. They are especially practical for those who can no longer wear removable dentures.
However, implants can only be considered in patients with a healthy amount of bone in their jaw. In extreme cases where there may not be enough bone, we may be able to augment this with bone grafting before placing the implant.
Even if you have previously been told you are unsuitable for implants because of bone degeneration or if you have been missing your teeth for some time, we may be able to help. To find out if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants, we recommend a consultation where we will examine your mouth and assess your suitability.
Implant-supported bridges
Do you have several missing teeth? Do you have trouble chewing?
If you have lost several teeth in a row or are concerned about your ability to chew due to the loss of a molar, then an implant-supported bridge could be the ideal solution to help restore balance to your chewing function and protect remaining teeth.
Implant-supported bridges are like traditional bridges in that they provide a fixed solution to fill the gap between other teeth. An implant-supported bridge involves two or more implants being used to support several fixed teeth. Each missing tooth does not necessarily require an individual implant but may be placed at either end of the gap and bridge across the implants. With implant-supported bridges there is no need to wear an uncomfortable denture.
What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots which are surgically inserted into the jaw to replace the missing root. Made of titanium, they integrate well with the surrounding bone and overtime the jawbone will grow around the surface of the implant providing a strong foundation for your bridge to securely attach.
Dental implants offer a durable and long-term solution for missing teeth – they look, feel and function like your natural teeth, enabling you to speak clearly, eat with enjoyment and smile with confidence.
Why would I need an implant-supported bridge?
Losing your teeth because of an accident, teeth decay or gum disease can create unsightly gaps in your smile. This can not only cause you to feel self-conscious about laughing and smiling but can also have an effect on the development and positioning of the surrounding teeth and jaw, potentially causing your face to sag and age prematurely. Whether you have one, two, three or more missing teeth an implant-supported denture can fill this gap.
Why implant-supported bridge instead of an ordinary bridge?
Ordinary bridges are supported by surrounding healthy teeth. This means that adjacent healthy teeth on either side of the bridge need to be filed down so that the bridge can be fitted from one tooth to another, with the false teeth in between. The healthy teeth then bear all the weight of the ordinary bridge.
With an implant-supported bridge, the false-tooth (or teeth) is supported by the implant, so there is no damage to the adjacent teeth. They are also more durable than ordinary bridges, which need to be changed every 10-15 years. An implant-supported bridge can last a lifetime, if well maintained and care for. For those patients who grind or clench, implant-supported bridges are far stronger and more durable to stand the test of time.
Full-arch dental implants
Partial or full dentures can be uncomfortable and irritating for many patients, as they face a daily struggle of chewing and speaking, which can seriously impact their quality of life.
Whilst removable dentures are an improvement to having no teeth, ill-fitting dentures that rub and give discomfort can have a huge knock on your self-confidence. Additionally, you may find that with the loss of your teeth, and having worn dentures for a significant amount of time, your jaw has receded and your facial features are beginning to sag prematurely.
At Dental House, our highly-qualified dentists can provide patients with a more comfortable solution by way of removable and fixed full-arch dental prostheses. Your Sunbury-on-Thames dentist can securely fix dental implants into the jawbone upon which your dental prosthesis will be firmly attached meaning your dentures will not be able to shift or move in the mouth.
This procedure is minimally invasive, and the dental implants are placed under local anaesthetic so you should feel no discomfort. Intravenous sedation can be offered for our more nervous patients and for any patient who wants to feel relaxed during the procedure. Any swelling afterwards can be easily managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Patients concerns:
Missing teeth, aesthetic concerns (concerned with appearance), poor functionality.
What we did:
Full arch implants were placed (x4) per arch and restored on the same day with an implant retained provisional bridge – the patient walked out with a new smile – returning 3 months later for the definitive bridge once implant integration had taken place.
Fixed full-arch dental implants (Neoarch®)
With revolutionary modern dental technology, coupled with the expertise of our in-house implant surgeon, we can replace your missing teeth and restore your natural-looking smile in just one day!
When it comes to full-mouth rehabilitation, your Dental House dentist will use Same-Day Teeth dental implants, to restore an entire arch of fixed non-removable teeth (upper or lower) using four strategically positioned implants. Using the Neoarch® solution from Neodent® (a Straumann Group brand), we ensure quality and reliability for an immediate fixed full-arch dental implant solution, enabling us to provide our patients with optimal stability to restore their smile, function and self-confidence. This technique maximises the available jawbone offering patients immediate and natural functionality without the need for complex and expensive bone grafting. No dietary restrictions. No garbled speech. Just perfectly natural-looking and functional replacement teeth, giving you a better quality of life and a more confident smile in just one day.
Who would benefit from full-arch implants (Neoarch®)?
This Same-Day Teeth approach is perfect for patients looking to restore their smile with full-arches of replacement teeth. If you’re looking for a secure and permanent alternative to dentures, this treatment is the ideal missing teeth solution.
Patients who have previously been denied a single-tooth implant due to reduced bone density will often qualify for Neoarch without having to undergo invasive bone graft surgery. This is because Neoarch implants are secured to the naturally thicker bone towards the front of the jaw.

Bridges
If you’ve you lost a tooth through trauma, sports injury, gum disease or advanced tooth decay then Dental House can provide a permanent replacement with a bridge.
A bridge is a false tooth (or teeth) that are permanently cemented to the natural teeth adjacent to the gap, or to the natural tooth to the side of the gap. Bridges are an ideal solution for those who don’t like the idea of dentures or have only a few missing teeth.
Our bridges are crafted by hand at our in-house laboratory, ensuring that your bridge matches the colour of your teeth and fits and works well within your mouth.
Dentures
Dentures are a traditional option for replacing missing teeth, available as either a partial, if you still have some of your natural teeth, or as a full set to replace one or both of your arches.
Advancements in dentures means that they are no longer as uncomfortable as they once were, and they look more realistic too. A simple and cost-effective solution to missing teeth, dentures are for most people trouble-free and will remain comfortably in place.
Missing teeth can affect your confidence and overall quality of life and replacing them with dentures can provide many benefits.
- Feel more confident in social situations
- Eat comfortably and enjoy the foods you may have missed since losing your teeth
- Restore your speech
- Match your gums and facial features
- Support facial tissues to limit sagging and premature aging
- Less costly than other, permanent, restorative options
